  • Jess Lovell, DVM

    Owner
    Dr. Jess W. Lovell is the proud owner of the Coit North Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Lovell is a graduate of the University of Tennessee's College of Veterinary Medicine and has received additional orthopedic training at Texas A&M University and Iowa State University.

    Prior to joining the Coit North Veterinary Hospital medical team, he provided medical guidance, leadership and surgical support for a large group of veterinary hospitals in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Dr. Lovell's clinical interests include laser therapy, dermatology, dentistry, internal medicine and orthopedics.

    Jess has served as a professional liaison for the Colleges of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University and Oklahoma State University, and has been a lecturer on leadership skills and veterinary practice at the University of Tennessee and various other professional organizations.

    He holds professional memberships in the Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

    An active member of the community, Dr. Lovell served as an elected official on the McClendon-Chisholm City Council.  He is also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), Veteran's of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the American Legion.

    Prior to his academic endeavors, he served his country as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the United States Marine Corps.

    In his spare time, Dr. Lovell enjoys cheering for his kids lacrosse, football and volleyball teams, camping, canoeing, sailing, fishing and being outdoors with his family.

  • Katie Pruitt, DVM

    Doctor

    Dr. Pruitt is the newest member of the Coit North Veterinary Hospital team. She graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelors in animal and dairy science in 2005, and from Mississippi State's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. After graduation, Dr. Pruitt moved back to north Texas to be closer to family and has been practicing in the area ever since. Dr. Pruitt worked for Dr. Lovell the summer before she started veterinary school in 2005. She was very excited and honored to have the chance to join his team again here at Coit North Veterinary Hospital.

    Dr. Pruitt's professional interest include physical rehabilitation, pain management, geriatrics, internal medicine and feline medicine.  She is a certified canine rehabilitation therapist, and achieved this specialty certification through the Canine Rehab Institute. She will also start her certification in veterinary acupuncture later this year.

    Dr. Pruitt enjoys traveling, cooking, crafting of any kind, sports, especially college football (GO DAWGS), and spending time with her family and friends. She has a 2.5 year old nephew that she loves to spend time with and spoil. Her fur family includes four cats, Charlie Scarface, Henry VIII, Frankie Blue Eyes and Niah, and three dogs, Pineapple, Polo and Pumpkin.

  • Taylor

    Hospital Director / Veterinary Technician
    Taylor joined the team at Coit North Veterinary Hospital in May 2011. She has been active in the veterinary field since 2006, working alongside Dr. Lovell for a majority of that time. She graduated as a Texas Scholar from Sachse High School in 2007 and studied Animal Science at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Taylor's passion is winning the hearts of fearful/aggressive patients so that they can receive the care they need! She also enjoys horseback riding, fishing, volleyball, being outdoors and loves spending time with her husband and two kids. Her four-legged family includes a spoiled rotten Boston Terrier named Minnie Pearl, a feisty cat named Graycee Ann, horses, cows, and chickens.

    Office Manager
    Allison began working at Coit North Veterinary Hospital in 2014 and stepped away in 2019 to focus on her family. She then returned in 2022 to her second family at CNVH! She has 2 crazy kids and an even crazier dog named Skylar. In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with family and traveling (when time allows)
  • Maryam

    Veterinary Technician
    Maryam began working with the Coit North Veterinary Hospital team in August 2012 and has been a veterinary technician since 2009. She loves animals and enjoys working closely with patients. Maryam has an American Short-Hair named Sonny, and a pretty tuxedo cat named Bonny. She loves snakes, tigers, and exotic sea animals. In her free time she paints, reads, writes, does photography, and is currently working on her Science and English majors.
